SUSTAINABLE DINING

Fresh Ingredients and Community Focus

At Five Senses, we are dedicated to sustainability and responsible ingredient sourcing. Most of our fresh vegetables and herbs are grown in our kitchen garden located in Kajiado County. Our potatoes used in our signature house fries are grown in our farm in Nyandarua County. We plan to produce our own dairy products using milk from our dairy animals bred on the farm. By growing and sourcing locally, we aim to provide the freshest ingredients while promoting sustainable practices.

The restaurant has consistently created job opportunities for at least 15 people, most of whom are under 30 years old. Through its extended activities it also provides employment for over 20 farm workers. The dairy project, which will grow to include sheep and chicken farming, aims to establish a community learning center focused on agro-ecological practices that nurture and preserve the earth.

Being strong believers in the need to nurse our soils back to health for production of nutrient dense food we use compost made from animal manure, kitchen and crop waste, we practice crop rotation, rain water harvesting and irrigation to ensure availability of fresh and nutritious food all year through.
