STORIES BEHIND OUR MENU

5 Senses Named Among the Best Restaurants in Nairobi Right Now — Condé Nast Traveller Middle East

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news: 5 Senses has been featured in Condé Nast Traveller Middle East’s roundup of “The Best Restaurants in Nairobi Right Now.” It’s a proud moment for our entire team — and one we’re excited to share with the community that’s supported us from the very beginning.

An International Nod to a Homegrown Story

Here’s what the magazine had to say about us:

“This family-run restaurant comes with serious credentials. Chef Kim Kairie cut his teeth with Alain Ducasse before coming home and founding 5 Senses. Using produce from Kairie’s two farms, the menu marries Kenyan flavours with French flair. Standouts include red snapper with a velvety soubise sauce and lamb rack, accompanied by garden-fresh pea puree. Kairie’s take on Kenyan street food is genius – try the mayai pasua (split eggs) with salmon roe and garlic cream pesto. While the restaurant – smart with gold accents – can be found in cosmopolitan Kilimani, don’t miss Kairie’s ‘Nomad Table’ popping up across the country.”

Being recognised alongside some of Nairobi’s finest dining establishments by a globally respected travel authority like Condé Nast Traveller is a milestone we don’t take lightly. It’s a validation of everything 5 Senses set out to do: bring together the best of Kenya and the best of French culinary tradition, on one plate.

Thank You

To everyone who has walked through our doors, shared a meal with us and told a friend about that dish they couldn’t stop thinking about — this recognition is as much yours as it is ours. We wouldn’t be here without you.

We invite you to come experience for yourself what earned us a place on this list. Book a table at our Kilimani restaurant, or keep an eye out for where the Nomad Table lands next.
